Thought I would start a discussion about my new 40k force for 2010 - Tau

I have never played this army before and am looking forward to the challenge.

I would like to start by asking a question:

If i equip a crisis suit with two flammers are they twin linked? and what effect does it have?

I spoke with the guys at GW sutton and they did not seem sure - they concluded that they are twin linked and that the effect is one template over the target, number of wounds equals number of models under template x2 and re-roll to wound.

That makes this an amazing anti horde suit if its true

Twin linked template weapons re-roll to wound. You don't get double hits.
Generally having 2 weapons just gives you a choice of which to use. For Crisis suits, you can buy a Multi tracker to fire 2 guns.
If you took 2 TL flamers (if even possible) , you should roll for them seperately - ie 2 templates, each wound roll done seperately.

so if I had a suit with multi tracker and two flamers that would be under 40 pts and both flamers can fire into a unit - not bad

there are better things to put on a crisis suit than an extra flamer
just remember that at T4 even a missile launcher will instantly kill a suit and a crack missile will ignore its armour

Defo, thats what sheild drones are for with a 3+ armor and a 4+ inv save
